“Jump complete.” Yuli reported.

“One contact.” Jonas stated. “Distance 230,000 kilometres. Alliance vessel.”

Ranix leant forward in his chair. “Hiks, open a channel.”

“Alliance vessel, this is Alliance vessel Epsilon, 7th Fleet. Please identify.” Hiks also typed a message that was transmitted to the ship.

After a few seconds of waiting, an image was displayed on the main viewscreen of an empty bridge, except a single droid sitting at the Ship Masters position. “Epsilon, you are not a scheduled to rendezvous.” The droid said in a cold voice.

“We’ve been asked to meet Ship Master Ava here.” Ranix replied.

“Ava is unavailable.” The droid replied.

“Rais, get us closer.”

“SC.” Ranix only had to wait a second for the machine to respond.

“Go.”

“Can you hack that droid?” Ranix asked, speaking out loud to the ships comms system.

“Standby.” There was a pause. “Get the ship within 1000 metres.” The line went dead.

“Rais, do it.”

Firing up the engines, the Epsilon started to rapidly close down the distance between the two ships, cutting through space like a hot knife through butter.

It didn’t take long for the droid, which was nothing more than a clerical droid, to notice that the Epsilon was racing towards it at great speed.

“Vessel Epsilon, you are not authorised to dock with this vessel.”

“I’m detecting the SC on the top of the hull.” Reported Jonas.

“Very well.” Ranix replied. “Rais, distance?”

“80,000 K to target.”

“Very well.” Ranix kept his eyes focused on the image of the ship that they were heading towards as it grew larger and larger on the monitor. Bringing up a magnified view of the ship, it was evident to Ranix that it was a supply ship, roughly six hundred metres long, and three hundred metres tall, and seventy-five metres wide. It could resupply multiple starships at the same time, but had very limited armaments and was very slow sub-light.

The closer the Epsilon got to the giant supply ship, the more frequently the droid on the video monitor demanded the Epsilon to halt its course. It got to the point where the droid was repeating its warning so quickly that it became inaudible to organic ears.

“Passed 2k.” Rais shouted from the front of the bridge.

“Get us within 100 and hold.” Ranix ordered.

“Do not continue to close with this vessel or you will be....” The line went dead.

Ranix looked up at the picture on the monitor and noticed that the droid on the supply ship bridge was quickly typing keys on the Ship Master’s chair.

“We are cleared to dock on the top port bow slot.” Announce the SC over the ship's intercom.

“Rais.”

“Got it.”

Three minutes later the Epsilon had lined its hanger up with the supply ship and achieved a pressurised lock. The VLT assembled in the hanger along with Ranix and Yuli ready to board the ship.

“Seal is good.” Yuli reported from a small control panel next to the door.

“SC, have them open the far side.”

The noise from the interior hatch opening was quite loud, and once it was locked into place a siren gave off a twin wail,
